Another Education Committee adventure on July 1, 2025 - SAS Volunteer, Rich Howard, met with a group of University of California, Davis students and educators to consider local freshwater ecosystems at Bobelaine Audubon Sanctuary. The goal was to learn about regional bird communities and their connections to riparian and wetland habitats.
The group, part of the NSF IRES ASI: Freshwater Ecosystems program were participating in a field-based educational experience for graduate students focused on freshwater ecology and environmental systems across California and the Italian Alps.
Rich,
Thank you so so so much for joining us yesterday! Your knowledge and insight is incredible, I personally loved the way you told the history of the area and put the bird migratory patterns in the context of the river systems. We are so grateful for the time and energy you put into hanging out with us.
