Coyote Creek - Update

On December 19, the California Native Plant Society (CNPS) and the Environmental Council of Sacramento (ECOS) filed suit against the County of Sacramento for its recent approval of the Coyote Creek Agrivoltaic Ranch Project. Background:
On November 18th, 2025 the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors approved the Coyote Creek Agrivoltaic Ranch project, sited in eastern Sacramento County between Prairie City SVRA and the Deer Creek Hills Preserve. If this solar farm goes ahead, it will remove 1,357 acres of native habitat, and it will fragment and disturb vernal pool and grassland habitats.
