Sandhill Cranes are a specialty of the Central Valley in late fall and winter, and unlike birding for other species, late day-early evening viewing of these amazing birds can be a great success.

Docents will have a row of of spotting scopes set up, including lower ones for children, giving you excellent views of the many colorful ducks, other waterfowl, shorebirds and more.

There is no monthly speaker presentation in December. The next monthly speaker program will be on January 19, 2023 at 7pm.

On November 3, 2022 Paul Miller photographed this Sandhill Crane at Cosumnes River Preserve. He was able to identify the number on the band and submitted it to the USGS Bird Banding Laboratory online.

Donations of binoculars and field guides are needed by the Young Birders Club. This is a new program for 4th-6th grade students in the Linda / Olivehurst area of the Marysville school district.
