From Sacramento County Regional Parks:
Ancil Hoffman Park will temporarily close for up to two months beginning May 28, 2025, as Sacramento County Regional Parks repairs, repaves and restripes the roads and parking lots to ensure compliance with state and federal accessibility standards.
While the park will be closed to general vehicle traffic during construction, access to scheduled events at the Effie Yeaw Nature Center, including NatureFest on June 8, Summer Camps, and more, will remain available. Limited parking will be designated specifically for Nature Center activities in the open field across from the Nature Center throughout June, as a new Effie Yeaw Nature Center parking lot is under construction. Visitors are urged to use caution while in the park and passing through to the Nature Center, as it will be an active construction site. Full vehicle access to the park is expected to resume in July, once all parking areas are restored.
In addition to road and parking lot upgrades, the County will install new planting basins with root barriers to prevent future damage to paved areas. These basins will be planted with native shade trees to enhance the park's natural environment and sustainability.
