Field Trip Leaders: Ben Graber and Michele McCormick
Join Ben and Michele for a leisurely morning walk to a popular park that is a surprising oasis for bird life. We can expect to see a variety of grassland species including meadowlarks, Ring-necked Pheasant, and various raptors, herons, and egrets. The expected highlight is a rookery of Black-crowned Night Herons, Western Cattle Egrets, and Snowy Egrets. Along the way, award-winning photographer Michele McCormick will offer comments on what makes this area special photographically, and tips and techniques for getting the best images.
Directions and confirmation of exact meeting location and time will be provided upon registration.
