Sacramento Audubon Society is proud to offer a variety of field trips every month. Here’s some of what birders saw, heard, and experienced on recent field trips. Field trips are open to birders of all abilities. We’d love to have you join us on an upcoming Sacramento Audubon field trip.

Join us on September 21, 2023 at 7:00 pm when our Speaker Presentations return with The Language of Birds presented by Nathan Pieplow. This will be a hybrid session; our first time for this mode of presentation. You can join the meeting on-site at Effie Yeaw Nature Center or in the comfort of your home via Zoom.

You can check out a Bird Watching Kit with your library card from the Sacramento Public Library.

Grants are available through the Sacramento Perennial Plant Society for a variety of community gardening endeavors.

On August 26th and 27th, Cosumnes River Preserve is holding volunteer naturalist training at the Visitor Center. This 2-day training is a great opportunity to learn about the preserve's natural and cultural history, the native flora and fauna, as well as the history of the Preserve.

Sacramento Audubon Society is proud to offer volunteer-led field trips to suit a variety of birders and birding abilities, and visit a large range of birding locations.

As you may be aware, our Board has begun the process of considering changing the name of the organization. It is long and complicated, and will require a vote from our members.

The Gray Lodge Wildlife Area in Butte County closed some visitor areas on its west side to accommodate wetland habitat work and related construction.

After a three-year hiatus, the Sacramento Audubon Society is excited to announce the return of our general meetings at Effie Yeaw Nature Center.
