Join us for a morning of birding in northeast Sacramento’s high oak woodlands and grasslands. We will start by birding the oak woodland where we will get to observe Acorn Woodpeckers, Oak Titmouse, Spotted and California Towhee, Bewick’s Wren, California Quail, Wild Turkey, Red-shouldered Hawk, and Red-breasted Sapsucker, among others. Out of the woods, we will emerge into the riverside scrub, and look for Say’s Phoebe, Killdeer, flyover raptors, White-throated Swifts, and other open grassland birds. We will make our way to the river, where we will look for gulls, Common Goldeneye, Bufflehead, Common Merganser, Great Blue Heron, Spotted Sandpiper, Osprey, and other river birds.
