Young Birders Club Field Trip: Bobelaine Audubon Sanctuary

Field Trip Leader: Mackenzie Hollender, sacaudubonyoungbirders@gmail.com
Supervisor: Kevin Hollender

This is a Young Birders Club field trip. Participation is limited to members of the Sacramento Valley Young Birders Club. Register via Slack to join the Sacramento Valley Young Birders Club on this trip. Please go to www.sacramentoaudubon.org/young-birders-club to become a member.

Join Mackenzie Hollender as we explore grassy trails that run through mature oak forest, open grassland, along sloughs and a lake, through mixed riparian woodland, and partially along the west bank of the Feather River. The Bobelaine Audubon Sanctuary is maintained by volunteers from the Sacramento Audubon Society. Some birds we may come across are Black-crowned Night Herons, Wood Ducks, Swainson's Hawks. Mature oak woodlands here are home to Wrentit, Great Horned Owl, and California Quail. Though it is still early in the season, we could come across spring migrants such as Western Flycatcher, Western Tanager, Western Kingbird, and more.
