SAS Field Trip: Yolo Bypass Wildlife Area

Registration is NOT required for this field trip.

Field Trip Leader: Brian Gilmore

Join Brian for a morning drive around this diverse area just a few minutes from downtown Sacramento. A good variety of species is possible this time of year. Shorebird numbers will depend on the amount of water available. The trip will finish around 10:30.  Bring snacks and drinking water.  FRS radios are helpful so bring one if you have them.

Meet Brian at Lot A at the Yolo Bypass Wildlife area. From Sacramento on I-80 west, take the first exit at the west end of the Yolo Causeway, East Chiles/Rd, 32A, Exit #78. Turn right at the stop sign, go under the freeway, make a left up onto the levee; then drop down into the Wildlife Area. The trip begins at the first parking lot, Lot A, on your left.   We will drive the auto loop but there are places where we can get out of our vehicles and use scopes.  There is a Porta Potty available in one of the parking lots.
