Field Trip Leader: Rich Howard

Join Rich for a morning walk checking out the oak woodland and American River for local resident birds and winter visitors. Possible birds include Phainopepla and California Quail. We may get a chance to look through groups of gulls and sparrows, too! This is a good trip for both beginners and experienced birders. A Sac County Park Pass or $7 entry fee is required for all vehicles. There is a vault toilet in the parking lot.

Meeting Location: Meet Rich at Sailor Bar at the last parking lot on your left, near the boat launch area.

Directions: From Hwy. 50, take Hazel Ave. north, turn left on Winding Way, then turn Left on Illinois Ave.  Follow Illinois all the way to the end.
