Field Trip Leader: Michael Curtis

Join Michael for a morning walk, checking out the oak woodland and American River for year-long resident birds and summer visitors. We will be on the lookout for Bullock's Oriole, Western Kingbird, and Black-chinned Hummingbird. We will also get a chance to look through groups of swallows, too! This is a good trip for both beginners and experienced birders. A Sac County Park Pass or $7 entry fee is required for all vehicles. There is a porta-potty at the halfway point of the walk.

Meet Michael in the first parking lot on the right, near the pond at Sailor Bar. From Hwy. 50, take Hazel Ave. north, turn left on Winding Way, then turn Left on Illinois Ave. Follow Illinois Ave to the first gravel parking lot.
