Field Trip Leader: Rich Howard
Join Rich for a morning walk checking out the oak woodland and American River for local resident birds and winter visitors. Possible birds include Phainopepla and California Quail. We may get a chance to look through groups of gulls and sparrows, too! This is a good trip for both beginners and experienced birders. We will walk about 3 miles on mostly packed dirt trails, with some narrower cobbly sections. A restroom is available in the parking area.
Meeting Location: Meet Rich at the parking lot off Pennsylvania Ave.
Directions: From Highway 50, drive north on Sunrise Blvd, turn left on Fair Oaks Blvd. and take the first left on Pennsylvania and follow it into the park.
Parking and Fees: A Sac County Park Pass or $7 entry fee is required for all vehicles.
