SAS Field Trip: Del Campo Park

This field trip is FULL. Please email Ed to be added to the waitlist.

Field Trip Leader: Ed Harper

Nestled to the west of Del Campo High School is a neighborhood delight that has been woefully neglected by birders. It can, however, provide a couple of hours of relaxing birding that can brighten your day. An eBird hotspot, it unfortunately has been visited sparingly by only a few birders. It deserves more attention. Local residents from Carmichael and Fair Oaks will find it conveniently accessible and rewarding. The park is home to many familiar birds including Red-shouldered Hawk, Cooper’s Hawk, and Nuttall’s Woodpecker. It’s exciting to visit during migration when anything can show up. The park remains a reliable location for Yellow-billed Magpies. Meet Ed in the parking lot on the west side of the park accessed via of Heathcliff Drive in Carmichael.

Field Trip Registration: Registration is required for this trip and is limited to 8 participants. This trip is FULL. Please email Ed to be added to the waitlist.
