Field Trip Leader: Cliff Feldheim

The Bushy Lake Preservation Act designates Bushy Lake as an approximately 86-acre State Nature Preserve located within the Cal Expo Area in the 2008 American River Parkway Plan. We will walk on largely level ground along paths and trails looking and listening for breeding birds. The site is a combination of grasslands, riparian, and wetland habitats providing the opportunity to see a variety of bird species, and other wildlife such as the Western Pond Turtle. Deer, coyote, and gray fox, are present on site but not to be expected at every visit.
