♿ SAS Birdability Week Event: Photographing Sandhill Cranes at Cosumnes River Preserve

Registration is required for this event and is limited to 10 participants. Please email Paul to register.

Field Trip Leader: Paul Miller

In celebration of Birdability Week please join Paul Miller at the Cosumnes River Preserve to photograph our majestic sandhill cranes. The Preserve is our premier accessible venue offering stunning close up views of migratory waterfall, including Sandhill Cranes. This event is wheelchair and/or walker friendly. Bring whatever camera equipment you have, even your cell phone. Paul will provide tips on getting some good captures. He will compile best images from the day and share on our Facebook page. The trip is designed as a safe and inclusive event for everyone. No prior birding experience is required. Just bring your open heart and wonderment.

Birdability Week is a celebration of birders with disabilities and other health concerns, as well as an opportunity to share resources and ideas to help the birding community become accessible, inclusive, and welcoming to everybody! It is an annual collection of events the third week of each October, drawing inspiration from other inclusive celebrations such as #BlackBirdersWeek, Latino Conservation Week and Let’s Go Birding Together.

Directions and confirmation of exact meeting location will be provided upon registration.
