This is a California State Capitol Museum and California State Parks Dept. of Parks & Recreation event. Registration is recommended but not required.
Start off the New Year with a Bird Talk and Walk through the California State Capitol Park. Meet at 13th and Capitol Avenue in the park grounds at 9:00am for a brief talk before a leisurely “First Day Hike” searching for resident and migratory birds. No bird watching experience is necessary. There are paved and unpaved paths.
Length of Hike: 0.5 mile, 2 hours
Preparation: Bring a hat, binoculars, and a bird book, if you have them available. Everyone will receive a bird guide.
Special Instructions: This event happens rain or shine. Registration is recommended but not required.
