Happy Halloween! Let’s go birding in some cemeteries North of Lincoln. We’ll begin at Morgan Oaks Eternal Reserve with its wide gravel and dirt packed trails. When we are done at Morgan Oaks we’ll move over to Manzanita Cemetery, watching for Western Meadowlark and Say’s Pheobe as we caravan from one cemetery to the next. Both cemeteries have been great places to find Lewis’s Woodpeckers in years past. 

The walk around Morgan Oaks is about 2.5 miles. While mostly flat on wide gravel paths, there is a small ditch (creek) we may need to cross over. The walk at Manzanita will be less than .5 miles primarily on wide gravel paths. We may need to walk in long wet grass in Manzanita, so be sure to wear appropriate shoes. Morgan Oaks has a bathroom available for public use.

Meet Mary and Jane at Morgan Oaks Eternal Reserve. 421 Fleming Rd, Lincoln, CA 95648. From Sacramento, take HW80 East, then CA 65 North (Exit 106). Continue on CA 65 for about 14.5 miles. Turn right onto West Wise Rd. After 4 miles, turn left on Gladding. After 2.7 miles, turn right onto Flemming Rd. Morgan Oaks is .5 miles ahead on the right.
